All Abilities Sculpture Trail, Telford Park

Telford Park, a former landfill site, has been developed by Moorabool Shire Council into a 16-hectare open space reserve, including an All Abilities Sculpture Trail. This park, which was once a rubbish tip, is set to become an important recreational asset for Bacchus Marsh, providing health benefits for both the local environment and community. Our scope included extension of the car park, a new trailhead and signage, connection to the beginning of the existing 1000+ Steps, along with an all abilities trail approximately 1500 metres in length.

Our team worked closely with RMG Civil Engineers to design the trail to meet accessibility requirements, making the most of the topography, views, and existing vegetation on the site. The trail maintains a grade of 1:20 or less and offers options for shorter or longer loops, leading to a lookout mound at the centre of the park. The mound is constructed from topsoil and fill that was stockpiled on site and is fully planted with indigenous shrubs and grasses. A series of sculptures are planned along the trail, with the first installation atop the mound.
