Our Landscape Architecture Design Process. 

The design process outlined below describes how projects are typically structured in terms of the key stages that form important milestones during the design and construction of a typical landscape development.


Fees for each stage can be provided as an agreed fixed fee or as a percentage of the project value.

Design Development Stage

This stage typically involves the following services:

  • Preliminary / conceptual design drawings / design options
  • Developed design concept drawings
  • Preliminary and developed estimate of probable costs
  • Client meetings & concept presentation

Documentation

This stage typically involves the following services:

  • Detailed working drawings for use by contractors during tendering and construction including set-out and levels plans, planting plans, landscape details and landscape specifications
  • Liaison as necessary with other consultants including architects, structural & civil engineers
  • Refined estimate of probable costs
  • Works schedules / bill of quantities
  • Lodgement of drawings for planning / building permits
  • Client meetings

Contract Administration

Once documentation is completed, we move on to the contract administration stage which typically involves the following services:

  • Project tendering and liaison with client and tenders
  • Receive tenders and provide recommendations to client
  • Landscape works contract preparation
  • Administration of contract including site visits, project meeting minutes, issuing instructions to contractor, preparation of relevant certificates throughout the project to completion.

Pre-Design Stage

This stage typically involves the following services:

  • Preliminary client meeting, briefing and scoping of the project
  • Site assessment, analysis & measurement
  • Base plan preparation
